What is STAR? STAR stands for the State Teach Ag Results Program. The National Teach Ag Campaign launched the STAR program in the spring of 2014 to increase recruitment and retention efforts at the state level. The STAR program is designed to assist states in creating sustainable and effective recruitment and retention plans. STAR states receive in-kind design and consultation services, access to Teach Ag grant funds, priority preference for Teach Ag Ambassador positions, promotion and assessment summaries.
What have we done so far? Our program is still in the developmental phases, but we have many exciting initiatives coming down the pipeline! How do I become involved in helping to recruit and assist our future teachers? For more information, please attend our CAAE meetings, and join the STAR committee, or send an email to any of the CAAE officers. Please visit the STAR section on the NAAE webpage.
Who is involved? A combination of Connecticut agriculture teachers, state staff and advisors, National advisors, future teachers, and other advisory members are involved in the program development. We are looking for more help from anyone interested in helping to develop a program to ensure the quality and quantity of future agriculture educators!
