The State Department of Education and Teacher of the Year Council have embarked on a mission to produce Connect-Ed, a collection of stories to share with aspiring educators, community members, parents, and families that capture this extraordinary time in public education amidst an era of quarantine and social distancing.
As a Connecticut educator, you are invited to submit a story, poem, or
artistic rendering that illustrates the power of relationships as it connects
to teaching and learning. Share your story and/or invite a student to
share their story of challenge and triumph, collaboration, and innovation through a period in our history unique to a generation.
Our hope is to continue the publication as a way to help inspire new teacher candidates, invigorate veterans, and build community support for the profession.
The submission date has been extended through to the end of July, so feel free to reach out and invite/ share the offer with your students or other colleagues from Connecticut.
