State and National FFA Updates
The information below is what currently was provided to states regarding National FFA Activities:
Washington Leadership Conference
After careful review, we made the difficult decision to again cancel all sessions of the 2021 Washington Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C., due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We look forward to WLC returning in the summer of 2022. For more information, please visit the WLC webpage or reach out to WLC@FFA.org with any questions
2021 National FFA Convention & Expo
October 27-31 in Indianapolis, IN
2021 National FFA Convention & Expo Update Expected by Late Spring
We have received some questions as to when a decision will be made on whether convention will be fully virtual or conducted as a hybrid with a combination of in-person and virtual components. We are continuing to monitor the situation with the pandemic, national and local government regulations, and national and local health and safety guidelines. The health and safety of our stakeholders is our priority, and we expect to announce a final decision by late spring. As additional information is available, we will be sure to keep you informed.
2021 National CDEs/LDEs Update: Date Change for Certification
We are actively planning to host national-level CDEs and LDEs this fall but still have many unknowns to work through. To assist this process, we have moved our national certification deadline to August 2. This change is one month earlier than our traditional certification deadline. Please begin adjusting your schedules accordingly.
Our goal is to host as many CDEs and LDEs as possible this fall regardless of the national convention's in-person status. We expect some events may become entirely virtual, and some may be a hybrid of virtual and in-person. If hybrid or virtual, we anticipate events will begin after the certification deadline and prior to the scheduled convention dates. Our team is working on those details now. We will be sharing detailed, event-specific updates soon.
On another note, Connecticut is planning a virtual State FFA Convention for your students this year. Many student applications are due on April 7, 2021 for State FFA Officer, CT FFA Foundation Scholarships and State FFA Degrees and/or Star applications. These applications can be found on the www.ctffa.org web site.
